Valentines Day Nails: No1

Hello lovelies! February already? Oh my!

Anyways, Valentines day is creeping upon us, and Ive been look everywhere for inspiration on new nail art designs. I have recently started following MUA's blog (make up academy) and saw a nail design post see did afew weeks ago. WOW, I love it and am simply going to try and re-create it. Im sorry for copying but this look is just too cute to not try out myself!

I used Accessorize pink polish, shade 22. I was considering a red but thought pink would make the design stand out more.

I love this pink. Its so girlie, pretty and summery - Just the colour the doctor orders on a miserble cold winter day.

sorry this pictures dark?!

For the 'writing/drawing' I used MUA's shade 5 black liquid eyeliner. I have always wanted to use other make up items instead of polish but have never seemed to get around to it. To be honest, after using an eyeliner as polish - Im not that keen. I dont know whether it was the nail polish itself, or the actual eyeliner I used, maybe it was poor quality (it was only £1!) but it seemed didnt seem to work very well. Think using a crayon over wax, that is how it was to use.

This is the result;

On the thumb I drew a heart balloon, which leads onto my first finger to create the letter 'L' (looks more like an 'E', oh well!)... following on the pattern, onto my next finger to create an 'O' and so on until I spelt the word 'LOVE' on my nails. I then coloured in the heart with a dark red from nails inc.
My opinion? I dont like it. I dont know whether it was because the eyeliner was a pain to work with, the fact that my letters dont look right or what, but Im really not liking this design. Such a shame as I was so excited.

What do you think?

  2. Oh wow they look so cool, I may have to try this! I've never even thought of using eyeliner on nails, I might try it out now, so thanks for the idea! Do you put anything over the eyeliner, like a top coat? XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.com/
